After an intense confrontation, both the RoughRiders Randy Maddox and the Travelers Michael Brown were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Frisco-Arkansas game. Both players will miss 4 games as a result of their actions.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Randy Maddox commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
Maddox is hitting .226 this year with 9 home runs and 33 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .353, 51 walks and scored 35 times.
In the current season in 17 starts, Michael Brown has a record of 4-7 with 71 strikeouts in 92.1 innings and a 5.65 ERA.
