Opitz Hits in 20 Straight Games
Friday, August 9th, 2019
The Washington Nationals may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 6-4 to the New York Mets, but Shane Opitz continued to hit like a god.

The first baseman collected 2 hits in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.

"Opitz is playing great and is on fire right now," Nationals manager Dave Serrano said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."

Opitz was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss."
Shane Opitz grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th and hit an RBI single in the 6th.

In 97 games Opitz is hitting .297 this season with 102 hits, 7 home runs, 44 RBIs, 29 walks, .356 OBP and has scored 38 runs.
